Six students pursuing PHC career receive $2,500 scholarship
New Orleans, LA -- Today, Delta Faucet Company announced the winners of six $2,500 scholarships for students pursuing plumbing-heating-cooling related studies at colleges, trade schools or participating in apprenticeship programs. The scholarship program is administered by the Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors (PHCC) Educational Foundation.
“Delta is committed to the development of a professional workforce in the plumbing, heating and cooling industry,” said Jon Dartt, vice president of trade and international sales for Delta Faucet Company. “If we expect to have a wealth of qualified professionals tomorrow and in the future, it is vital for us to lend our support today to those people working to get an industry education.”
The following students were awarded scholarships:
- Christopher Frock of Westminster, Md., is enrolling in York College of Pennsylvania to pursue a 4-year degree in mechanical engineering.
- Joseph Groveman of Roswell, Ga., is a senior at the Georgia Institute of Technology, studying for a four-year degree in mechanical engineering.
- John Perry of Bonita, Calif., is enrolled as a first-year apprentice in the PHCC of San Diego Apprentice Program.
- Austin Noe of Knoxville, Tenn., is enrolled at Pellissippi State Technical College pursuing a 2-year degree in business management.
- R. Colin Powell of Clinton, Tenn. is enrolling at Campbellsville University to pursue a 4-year degree in business management.
- Chris Smith of Pierre, S.D., is enrolling at the University of South Dakota to pursue a 4-year degree in business management.
To qualify for the $2,500 scholarship, students must submit a detailed application including a letter of recommendation from an active member of the PHCC—National Association and enroll in a plumbing-heating-cooling related course of study or apprentice program. PHCC is responsible for selecting the scholarship award winners.
