Following is a summary of the most recent initiatives, sponsorships and efforts Kohler has undertaken to educate homeowners about the importance of water conservation:
* Third consecutive year of sponsorship for the NAHB ‘Green Day’ initiative at the 2010 International Builders’ Show.
* First and only two-time recipient of the EPA’s WaterSense Manufacturing Partner of the Year Award. The 2009 award was earned for the company’s efforts to promote the WaterSense program and develop innovative products that conserve water without sacrificing performance.
* Kohler Co. recently launched its sustainability initiative to be Net Zero with carbon offsets by 2035. This is a global sustainability platform for the company, encompassing education, innovative products and reductions in the company’s environmental footprint.
* Active supporter of organizations such as the Alliance for Water Efficiency, United States Green Building Council, Plumbing Manufacturer’s Institute – and others – to help build awareness and drive industry to collectively reduce homeowners’ water usage.
* Kohler launched SaveWaterAmerica.com one year ago – a viral Web site dedicated to raise awareness of the nation’s  looming water crisis, help homeowners save water, and support Habitat for Humanity with a $1 million product donation. The site’s success has helped build hundreds of homes across the country that not only perform to expectations, but save a significant amount of water. The program is continuing into 2010, for which Kohler will donate another $1 million in product to help build additional homes.
