Schaumburg, IL — Once again the PMI Fall Meeting will convene in our Nation's Capital, October 8-11. PMI is pleased to have the Omni Shoreham Hotel in Washington, DC as its venue for the Fall Meeting. Location is everything and the Omni is conveniently located just eight miles from Reagan National Airport. Taking advantage of this Washington, DC location, the keynote dinner presentation Tuesday evening will feature Tony Blankley and Eleanor Clift who will provide "An Insider's View to the Political Scene." Mr. Blankley served as press secretary for seven years to then Speaker of the House, Newt Gingrich. In that role, he not only helped create the messages that shook the country, but also helped create policy. Ms. Clift is a contributing editor for Newsweek. She reports on the White House, Congress, and the various personalities who make up the Washington power structure as she is a member of the magazine's political team.
A Welcome Reception and dinner kicks off the meeting on Sunday, followed by the General Membership meeting where the officers for 2007 will be elected and PMI’s 2007 operating budget will be presented. The following days are filled with issue and product related meetings, informative presentations, educational and interactive workshops to challenge and educate.
Monday’s session includes the new Materials Performance Committee (formerly the Leachate Committee, which encompasses the Lead Working Group), leading into the Government Affairs Standing Committee. The Product Groups: Supply Fitting/Water Temperature Device, and the Flushing Devices/Fixtures, will also meet Monday morning. The afternoon concludes with a joint meeting of the Universal Conformity Assessment Issue Committee and Technical Standing Committee. This agenda will include the announcement of the new Electronics Working Group and a call for committee chairs. Madame Youhong Liu Senior Engineer of the National Quality Supervising Test Center in China will address the group on China’s Codes and Standards.
Internet Security is the Topic of Larry Clinton’s presentation at the E-Business Issues and Opportunities Session on Tuesday afternoon.
