NAM Council of Manufacturing Associations Elects 2003 Directors, Officers

Schaumburg, Ill. — - The Council of Manufacturing Associations has announced the election of three members to its board of directors, as well as the re-election of a director and the appointment of its 2003 officers. The Council is an independently funded division of the NAM, comprising more than 200 manufacturing trade associations.

The new directors are Evan Gaddis, President of the Gas Appliance Manufacturers Association in Arlington, Va.; Barbara Higgens, Executive Director of the Plumbing Manufacturers Institute in Schaumburg, Ill.; and Malcolm O'Hagan, President of the National Electrical Manufacturers Association in Arlington, Va. Mr. O'Hagan has previously served as the chairman of the Council. The new board members started serving a three-year term beginning December 6, 2002.

M. Lance Miller, Executive Vice President of the Metal Treating Institute in Jacksonville Beach, Fla., was re-elected to a second three-year term on the board.

The officers for 2003 will be Chairman Thomas J. Dammrich, President of the National Marine Manufacturers Association in Chicago; Vice Chairman Joseph M. McGuire, President of the Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers in Washington, D.C.; Finance Committee Chairman Bruce J. Parker, President of the Environmental Industry Association in Washington, D.C.; and Immediate Past Chairman Jared O. Blum, President of the Polyisocyanurate Insulation Manufacturers Association in Washington, D.C.

"These are excellent additions to the Council board," stated NAM President Jerry Jasinowski. "Looking at the exceptional quality of its officers and directors, the Council should make great strides in developing legislative, regulatory, economic and educational opportunities that further the interest and purposes of the manufacturing community."
